Jawee Sukantha, a soldier in the Royal Thai Army, is also a fight promoter. He teaches a group of young boys, ethnic tribal and Thai orphans, the ancient martial art of Muay Thai and then matches them against other boys at Buddhist temple fairs all around rural Northern Thailand. On occasion, he is also called upon to gather adult boxers together for 'Torn Cloth', or bareknuckle, fights. Invoking pride in the historical struggle between Thailand and Burma, Jawee matches Thai against Burmese for these fights.
