Was this the last good movie done by Tom Cruise? It's hard to take him seriously in cinema anymore with anything new he does. Even now, I like this movie more for what's going on around him, and not his character.

My second favorite movie of all time. Everything about this movie is perfect, the acting, the story, the narration, the action, the emotion. A movie that pulls you into it's soul, and tells a fantastic story. Years ago I saw a preview while in the cinema for another movie. I clearly remember thinking "I've got to see that movie". It didn't dissapoint. One for the ages!

Great historic story about the Samurai sword. Tom Cruise is at his best role yet. The costumes and cultures were truly amazing. Would see it again, over and over!

I really liked this film. The samurai customs are awesome and I really liked the main Japanase caracter's acting. It is a must to see this movie even if you don't like Tom Cruise. The pictures are great and the musics, oh yeah, nice movie.

It's impressive to see, seriously, Tom Cruise learned how to speak japanese rather fluently, and the action scenes were very well played, I was quite impressed by this movie.

The characters, plot, and pacing of the movie was well developed. The actors and actresses conveyed such emotion and depth through their respetive characters in such a way that the audience could not help but be drawn into the movie. The Last Samurai was a definite must see and well worth the trip and cost to go see it!!

What makes Tom Cruise in this movie along with most of his other movies so great is that the character he plays transforms from the beginning of the movie to the end of the movie. In most of the movies, his initial character is cocky and arrogant, then through some transformation of events he becomes more concerned and human. After seeing this particular movie I thought theme-wise, it was a composite of "Braveheart" and "Dances with Wolves".

When I'd first seen the preview I thought that't not something I would want to see, but I went to blockbuster and didn't see anything else I really wanted to see I chose The Last Samauri. I think It's a great movie and I think Tom Cruise is a very great actor. This movie you must see if you haven't already and you must buy if you havent already.

The accuracy of the movie I am not certain of, but who am I to Judge? I thought this movie was very powerful and touching, and although there are many "close-ups" of Tom Cruise, it is something you don't pay attention to that much during the movie. The music was excellent, and there are numerous powerful moments in the film. I saw it two times and still enjoy it. Can you learn something accurate about Samurai's from this movie? I don't know, but it is worth seeing.

This movie is amazing, I believe it has a great plot, and message. It has become one of my favorites. Tom Cruis does an amazing job, and fits the role very well. Also the girl is hot, so thats an added bonus. But I would strongly suggest going and seeing it, just if you are under 13 or 14, depending on you maturity level you might need or want to wait a little. Some parts are pretty graphic, lets just say heads will roll. Go see it!!

Wasn't expecting this movie to be much - I was expecting mostly non-stop action. But as it turns out it was a lot more than that. Depth, intrigue, power struggle and of course medieval battle scenes were in this movie. One of my very small MUST SEE list. Will definitely see it second time.

The Last Samurai did an excellent job in trying to set history in Hollywood standards. Tom Cruise gave a performance which I thought was absolutely Oscar-worthy and Ken Watanabe was perfect for the role of the brave leader of the Samurais. The epic nature of this blockbuster film was shot in such a way that captured both the essence of the way of life of Westerners and the elite Samurai's coexisting together in Japan during the 1800s. The struggle between preserving the old and the conforming of the new was portrayed magnificantly and all the actors, including all the minor roles were acted well and made each and every scene vital to the entirety of this movie. One of the best movies I have seen, both visually and artistically.

The best movie that I have seen this year. It talks about the true meaning of honour in life, something that has been mostly missing from our world today. This is a " must see " for all ages!

A MUST SEE. Hounor, pride, and pasion are the main themes of this movie. Based in china Tom Cruises character is faced with the most difficult battle of his life. The battle of inner peace. Sure to some of you that is corny, but the tale of this soldier will forever warm the hearts of many. Pride, Hounor and passion are all that can be expressed, for the movie can only portray itself in the best nature.

This movie sickened me. Instead of being a historical drama, it is yet another movie made entirely to promote Tom Cruise. How many times during the movie do we get a close-up of his face, trying to show us how deep and moving he is? Please. We could have learned so much more about the samurais, but the time is spend instead selling Cruise. Disgusting.

This movie 'wows' in so many different areas of film-making. This time-piece is done so well... costumes, locales, everything. The story is very epic... very interesting... you'll defititly watch it to the end. Very good suporting character developments... very good battle scenes... very good showcase of a way of life... subtle humor in a couple of spots. Very well done.
