The visuals of this docu-movie are breathtaking. What serves as an unwelcome distraction is the narration as it only manages to manipulate the viewer and to detract from the action on-screen. Watch it, by all means, if you can access a medium in which you can turn down the volume.

I'd say this flick is the best Disney-nature movie I've ever seen. Even though I hate documentaries, this film is worth seeing.

The movie overall was boring and not at all informative. I get much more info on a doc on TV. Jackson narrating was a mistake and the kids who were there had all fell asleep!

Awesome nature scenes, most not replicated from previous movies. This was a really good story with some amazing scenes of different animals. A couple sad scenes but overall very Disney. Maybe a little depressing for those that don't like the reality of "Survival of the Fittest" and mother nature. Really enjoyed this real portrayal of the animal kingdom.

Wow. I can't believe the negative comments on this movie. It's a documentary but reading the bad comments, it's obvious they missed that. There is no man-made script or man-made story or actors for that matter. It's real life Savana unfolding before your very eyes. In my 45 years, it's the best I have seen as far as entertainment value involving an animal story. No CGI, that's incredible since we are being fed CGI with every film we see these days. It is genuinely the best nature film on African cats I have seen. Very much an emotional roller coaster with no humans even in it. Animal lovers and young people would love this film. The photography was again the best I have seen and it was extremely educational. My only disappointment is that Disney is profiting off of it and not contributing back enough coin to help save the Savana and the animals of Africa.

Beautiful documentary about Africa's cats! Filming, scenery and photography were stunning! Loved following the cat families around and seeing what happened to them. I also liked the fact that there were no gory scenes of animals eating other animals especially since a lot of children might go and see this with their family. Very well done Disney! A great documentary for animal lovers like me.

A wonderful movie about Africa, lions, cheetahs and survival. Great for children 5 or older. You gain a great respect for the cats and how life for these animals is harsh and about survival. At the same time their beauty, grace and courage is presented in stunning cinematography. How they managed to film these detailed stories about specific families is amazing. One last point. They omitted showing most of the blood and gore that is apart of these animal's life but there is a mood of foreboding that is present most of the time, as their lives are predominantly about survival. For this reason I wouldn't take a child younger than 5. A great movie of beauty, nature and survival.

I found that this movie was very moving and a bit spiritual as well. It showed you how the cats survive and I especially liked the way Disney didn't over exploit the fact that they need to kill to eat. We know that they have to hunt as part of [their] survival and Disney didn't focus on that part of it which was good in my opinion. Overall a great movie and the photography was excellent.

Great film! If you love Africa's amazing wild cats, it's a must see! This movie proves that life as a wild cheetah or a lion isn't as easy as it may seem. Very educational and a very interesting storyline to give us humans some idea of what these animals MAY be thinking. Of course we will never know for sure.

The images are visually stunning. Unfortunately the film is marred by the asinine commentary, spoken in an off-putting American accent, which imputes human feelings and designs to animal behaviour.

I loved everything about this movie. Beautiful photography, touching story, sad but wonderful showing the love and closeness and caring of family. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it from beginning to end. Makes you want to go on a safari in Africa, up close and personal, like the movie. If you enjoy, animals, the beauty of God's creation, then you couldn't help but enjoy this movie.

Really gorgeous shots - these movies are always so sad when the babies are eaten and die and stuff but it was a really beautiful movie overall and it's crazy that places like this exist while we are all in these big concrete cities. Seriously amazing. Live errday like it's earthday y'all.

I should have known that this would be the usual Disney schmaltz, and it was. The pictures were very pretty but the "story" was a silly soap opera imposed by the asinine narration on poor Mother Nature. It was not biological science but biological fiction and Samuel Jackson's melodramatic reading of the Opra-style narration combined with the overly dramatic orchestration ("Bring up the violins here...") made this just another pathetic bit of Disney anthropomorphism. Do not take your children to see this; it will actually inhibit their ability to learn about the natural world.

African Cats, while very beautiful to watch, is a terrible movie. The reason I say that is that the narration pretty much ruin the whole movie. You could have a really interesting movie if they didn't write the narration like a sequel to the lion king but sadly they didn't. Also the editing sucked but what do you expect when the movie narration is written like a fiction movie. So since this looks like the favorite word of whoever wrote the narration text, I'm going to use it to close my comment. You MUST skip this movie like most of the peoples I saw this movie with me wish they had.

I was extremely disappointed. The narration was very poorly done and the movie was uneventful and anticlimatic in parts. The animals were beautiful but the story was lacking and any scenes of true action were over before they even got started. I know it's a Disney film but it was way too diluted and often boring. I have seen better on tv.
