This movie I'd say is the best Greek mythology film I've ever seen! I can't wait for the rest to come out!

This movie was good considering it was based on a book. When people make movies of books, they can't have every single detail. I have read the books and it was better than most movies based on books. It could have had some more detail. But how much info can you fit in a 2 hour movie when the book takes like 4 hours to read?

If you like adventure movies then, go see it if you like action movies then, go see it! If you like the books & zeus, go see it! The movie is a masterpiece!

The movie was so so, but I have never ever seen such a bad adaptation from a novel. There was no attempt whatsoever to keep hardly any part of the book. The screenwriter simply wanted to write his own story! Sometimes there are changes due to time, budget or complexity but in this case so elements were added that it would have been simpler to keep the original story. Very dissappointing for anyone who read the book.

Before I watched the movie, I read the book by Rick Riordan. I was looking forward to seeing it transferred to the big screen, however, I was extremely disappointed. There were several things left out, no doubt due to time constraints, but the worst was not just what was left out but what was completely changed. The quest in the book seemed to be of dire necessity, but in this movie, it is hard to see why he is even on this quest at all. Wasn't there a million easier ways? Also, the movie seems to be copying every other movie as in the use of a map like Harry Potter's Marauder map. Why would his mother, a mortal, be able to find the gate to Olympus so quickly and the three magical ones can't? The deviance from the book made the movie seem pointless and ridiculous to me. Mind you, my sons 16 and 13 who did not read the book, loved the action and special effects. They thought it was cool despite the silly storyline.

This movie is overrated. It is essentially a parody... not extremely funny and predictable ending. Be prepared when you see the movie, don't expect anything else. I was disappointed. The Greek gods migrated to US from mount Olympus - Grece has nothing to do with the gods now, historical objects of significance are hidden in the continental US (really? - YES! - maybe some illegal aliens got them from Greece and have hidden them around in Nashville and Washington :)) and Meduza has a Toyota Prius Hybrid car parked in front of her house... this does not sound funny to me... In any case... don't expect too much because you won't get it.

It was amazing, AND THE ACTOR IS SO HOT. They used real and historic facts, which I liked and if you haven't read the books, it's a perfect start for it:)

I really liked this movie, I found it to be very entertaining. I really did not know what to expect when going to see it but I enjoyed it quite a bit. I thought taking old Greek mythology and giving it a modern day setting was awesome. After watching the movie I went out and bought all the books and am very excited to start reading them!

A good casting (appart for the 2 main characters...) but the scenario's a total fail! The jokes are cheap and so not worth the price of a movie ticket! A big not even juicy pile of cliches...

I thought this was a really good weekend movie. It is interesting enough to keep you entertained. This has some big stars in it and the film quality is quite high. The mythology is off a bit but I won't say too much so it doesn't ruin the movie for you. Good special effects and I love Uma Thurman as medusa! Not for little kids as some parts are too scary. Try 13+.

It had nothing to do with the book but still a good movie. 8 stars if you haven't read the book if you have then watch it for the humor not plot.

I went with 2 kids 14 and 9 both who have read the book. They liked it but did not love it. I felt it was entertaining and thought it had the ability to be a good film. However the acting needed some work and I felt the movie should have covered more time between moms death, training and him being this great warrior which all seem to happen in 2 hrs.

Unfortunately it was not as good as the book. They left ALLOT out. But if you get that out of your mind it was very good! The effects and acting were EXCELLENT! Great casting! The monsters were mind blowing!! I will be buying it when it hits DVD :-)

Ok, this is coming from a movie critic who has read all the books, I belive this movie, if directed right, could have been more popular than even Harry Potter. It should have gone toward an older audience considering the storyline is very intense. The character Annabeth, very clearly in the book it said she had BLOND hair with GREY eyes, in this picture she had black hair with blue eyes. How pathetic, they couldnt even find an actress that fit that description. I went with high expectations, considering the book was amazing, and the movie had a whole different climax and a different quest they had to go on. My final point, when they are in the Underworld, Percy says to himself I wish Persephone were here. But in the movie, she was and they got out of the Underworld a whole different way. This movie deserves less than what I am giving it, but I am feeling generous.

I just saw this movie and I was very disappointed. It completely changed the plot of the story and didn't catch any of the details from the book. After he figured out who he was 2 minutes into the movie, he was already out fighting monsters with no training at all!!! If you have read the book, the whole storyline was different. Clarisse wasn't even in it!! They cut out whole chapters from the book and I hope that when it comes out on dvd that it puts some of the scenes back in that they might have deleted. I guess it would be ok if you didn't read the book though. I really wanted to like this movie...

Loved it. Great special effects, like the story line, LOVED Uma Thurman and Pierce Brosnan (gitty up, any female with a heartbeat will get this) he's sooo yummy. What ever you do STAY until the credits are over you'll miss something BIG. Almost missed it. ENJOY. Came very close to giving it a 10, therefore it officially gets a 9.5!

Definitely a very bad movie. I especially like how when the minotaur supposedly killed Percy's mother, that he was able to get over it within minutes. Like... oh she's dead, o well lets train!!

If you completely change the origional storyline, add in a tripped out scene in vegas with Lady Gaga singing in the background and top it off with extemely bad acting from side kicks, this = do NOT see this movie, you'll never get those 2 hours back.

Of course, this is a movie based on a book, so... The book was an interesting concept, that was written poorly. The movie was a LITTLE better than the book, but overall the plot is thin and the actors/actresses couldn't really act.
